“I have an HS100, the older 15 amp switch. Recently, I plugged in a room air conditioner which has a 15 amp plug. It worked for several weeks, and the lights look like it works, but it no longer switches power. Should this new unit be okay?”

• I can't see the label on the old AC, so I looked at the specs on a newer one for reference. A Toshiba 6000 BTU unit is rated at 8 amps max, but has a starting current draw of 29 amps, which apparently burned out the tiny relay in the HS100.
