• Not a landline phone. An Echo or smart listening device will turn the power on/off. But not needed. Wifi internet is needed.

• It can through the App, but I also use voice commands through Google. The App is great because it let's you set a schedule. The voice commands are just convenient. Just name the plug what you want to call it and use Google or Alexa to give it commands to turn on or off.

• needs to be on WiFi from your home, but can be setup just via a phone or tablet.
