The plug only turns on or off power to the devices plugged into it, not sure how you would be able to dim lights. Unless the device (lamp/light) has a built in dimmer, then I suppose you could, but I don't see how the smart plug would have anything to do with this function except provide the on/off power to the lamp/light.

These are simply on/off at the outlet. You can look for wi-fi light bulbs, some of which have a range of brightness and color. I use those, as well.
