• 5G and 5 ghz are two different things. Your cell phone should be compatible with the 2.4 ghz WiFi band.

• Cellular 5G service is not the same as 5GHz WiFi; these are two separate technologies -- neither of which will affect the camera's ability to join your network. The Kasa Spot camera will connect to your network via 2.4GHz, and regardless of whether your phone is on 2.4GHz or 5GHz WiFi, you can still set up and manage the camera using the Kasa app. Once setup, you can also view and manage the camera when away from home via your phone's cellular Internet connection.
