“I have no direct access to my landlord's router, though I have Wifi due to it. Do I need to physically do anything to router in order to setup extender for myself ? Last unit I tried needed me to press a router button within 2 min of starting extender.”

you need to have the router name and password to connect no need to press the router button goto the tp link web site more information
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, you don't have to do anything to the router. I was receiving Wi-Fi from my landlord and when I got the extender, just made the Wi-Fi stronger in my area, instead of going in and out.
