How well it works will depend on your existing network environment, the placement of the extender in relation to the router, and the layout of your home. A steel-sided house will provide more of an obstacle for Wi-Fi than wood or drywall. This extender may work; however, if you need additional outdoor Wi-Fi coverage, we suggest considering our Deco X50-Outdoor or outdoor EAP models, such as the EAP610-Outdoor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have only used this device in access point mode inside a steel building and it works well for troubleshooting our systems using a laptop about 40ft from the extender. For you if you couldn’t utilize the extender on your generator than I would install a switch near the generator extender Ethernet connection to connect both extenders to your router.
