Hi! This Tapo smart Wi-Fi Light Dimmer Switch requires encrypted (password protected) 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for connectivity.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm assuming 5GHz WiFi, and to be frank, a large number of "smart home" products don't support 5GHz, only 2.4. Which isn't necessarily bad; 2.4GHz has better range and penetration, and since the data speed for smart home devices is pretty low (at least for switches and lights), if you can support 2.4GHz on your router/WAP, you should. Having said that, it looks like it's running at 2.4GHz, specifically the WiFi 4 (802.11n) standard on Channel 6 (2.4.17-2.437GHz). At least accrding to my WAP, which goes up to WiFi 6.
