I think it'll work for you. I have my Modem and Router in one room at front of hallway to the bedrooms, I placed the Wi Fi extender in living room ( in center of house), and we use computers and iPad and TV in family room at far end of house ( completely opposite end of house from modem). The family room is separated by concrete block from rest of living area. Get good reception everywhere.

How far its extended signal reaches will depend on various factors within your network and home. For example, how many obstructions (walls, furniture, etc.) between the extender and the desired extended Wi-Fi location, as well as construction materials and which Wi-Fi band you are connecting to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).
