Yes, your card will be added to your plan. When loading your card you will be asked if you want to use the card now or put it in the reserve. Adding it now will give you your talk, text, data and will extend your year plan by one month. Minutes and data will carry over anytime you add a plan. Reserve will add it at the end of your year plan and I assume you need your minutes now.

That way if you add the 500 card they can tell you it will be on your account, but not start until the year card is finished.
