QuestionI am looing at this phone for my mother and father inlaw. Their old 3g samsung no longer works. They are long time Tracfone users, they only buy minutes, no monthly "plan". Will this phone do the same? ...or does it require a "plan"?

- Answer Yes. I bought this Alktel phone for someone in a nursing home. I go through the Tracfone website to pay each month. or you can get the cards at stores. I buy the $20.00 unlimited talk snd text which also comes with 1 GB of Internet. He enjoys listening to music with the Internet service. Unused time rolls over. I don't think you could get a better phone for this price. It is very easy to use I am very pleased with the purchase.

- Answer i would think so, you'd just have no data. you can turn off the cell data part, on the phone - which is what i do when i'm in the house. before i activated the phone, i was able to connect to the WiFi and access the internet that way (yes, i realize you don't want data/internet - just saying).
