I don't know about a hard reset, but i've had weird sounds when the mic is unmuted before also. a power cycle usually fixes it for me. You might also check your mic monitoring and noise gate settings. Those settings determine what the mic picks up, and if it's picking up ambient sound, that might be what you're hearing.

Holding the "EQ Mode" and "Crossplay" buttons for a few seconds while the headset is powered on will force a reset (once the headset LED turns off, release them). We would also recommend making sure your firmware is up to date.
