• Hi Dede! I've never done it myself, but I'm sure that with the right tools and hardware, you can hang the mount anywhere. To include, over the fireplace. I would just advise, that when you do hang it over any structure that has a potential to get hot or warmer than the norm, you must attempt to keep the TV as cool as possible, as to not allow it to over heat. And, also as clean as possible, free from smoke and fire dust, and ashes.... Good luck! And enjoy your entertainment viewing.

• Yes, but don’t mount your television over a fireplace. The viewing angle is too high, the heat is bad for the television, and it just looks tacky.
