I have mounted 2-3 TV above a fireplace and what tends to happen over time is the back will melt or warp from the heat and the tuner (digital components) gets damaged. I do not even use the fireplace anymore.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Did you mean above a fireplace? Yes best buy has installers that can mount over a fireplace.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Let's see..... above a chimney would put us outside staring into the sky. Installing a TV on the fireplace wall above the mantle, parallel to the inner chimney is a job for a professional. Removing and adding electrical outlets, running the cable and aux wires inside so they do not melt or catch fire. Anchoring the TV mount bracket solid. Especially if using a cantilever mount. Are all possible. Proper length HDMI cables, Router cables, TV power plug wire length, DVD power cord length, Home theatre HDMI's & Power cord length, Etc, Etc. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME and you'll enjoy your entertainment system for many years.
