• Hi Charlie, Of course you can but consider placing the plug and the controller in a proof location, and to avoid plunges into the water for a long time (pools, gutters, puddles… ).​ ​One other good solution, if you don't have any safe place near the string, is to buy a waterproof box for plugs, which stores both the controller and the plug itself.
