“For installation purposes, can the GPS antenna be disconnected from the harness and then routed down and reattached, or is it permanently wired to the harness? I'd rather not buy the T-harness version for my existing hardwire kit because of the bulky plug”

It is built-in to the wire and cannot be removed. We carry the NON GPS version and a separate GPS logger that you can add to it.
