How much TB does this unit have built in null

This is an accessory to expand your memory on your existing Mac Mini M4; it does not include the SSD memory. But you can purchase the SSD and expand up too 8TB Expandable Storage.

the ad states that you can add up to 8TB of storage!!!

The device itself has no storage. You can add up to 2 TB of storage with the appropriate chip. Chip is invisible I added 1TB for $99.
