Absolutely! I use it on my fishing kayak and purposely put it in the water and it worked perfectly. It is a must have speaker

It actually says both waterproof and water resistant. however mine got partially wet with water, immediately dried off, the port flaps were tightly sealed, and now there's audio distortion so..... their product is wrongly advertised.

I don't know who the other person is that responded but the specs clearly says it is supposed to be water proof.

On the Ultimate Ears (UE) website, they say this in the "Waterproof" section of the tech specs page for the UE Boom 2 (link below): "IPX7 rated: UE BOOM 2 can be immersed in liquid up to 1m for up to 30 minutes." http://www.ultimateears.com/en-us/ueboom2/tech-specs
