“Does this battery have a mechanism to stop overcharging and/or overheating from being defective? (My last battery started to overheat. I would like to replace it with this battery)”

I have this battery over two weeks; so far it doesn’t get over heat while I left it on the charger after it get 100%. What I notice is that the lightning bolt icon disappears and the red 'charging' LED light change into green. When I pick up the phone it feels cold not warm. I hope it helps. Good luck.
