It could be used to hook up your rear surround speakers. Just wire it to the speaker posts you want to run wireless. My understanding of 7 speaker surround is 2 front speakers 2 rear (surround) speakers 2 front speakers higher up and 1 sub in front. Again this would work good for the 2 rear surround speakers.

This kit will allow you to connect two speakers, usually the rear speakers, wirelessly to your stereo. You will only be able to use one of these kits at a time so the other 5 speakers will need to be wired to the stereo.
