I plan to use the unit with about 20-25 feet between the transmitter and the receiver, but I would like to hide the receiver unit behind a couch. Will that interfere with the operation of the unit if there is not an unobstructed path between the transmitter and receiver?”

I have one "receiver" hidden behind my couch and I don't have any problems. I also have another "receiver" several rooms down that works correctly. The distance seems to go as far as a G router would.
