“I've read a few of the somewhat "negative" reviews, and several refer to this product failing shortly after one year (the length of the Rocketfish product warranty). Does anyone have experience using this for longer periods (e.g., maybe 2 years)?”

I have had mine for 2 years now. I havent had any issues since the original connection. I have moved once since, and plugged it back in. No problems.
