Hello, No, you do not need a Sonos amp. You will just need to be on the same network as the other Sonos products you have in order to use the Onyx with them. They all must be on the same connection/network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you're talking about 5 Sonos amps, I don't think you'd need another. In the Victrola app, you select a Sonos device or group as the default playback device for the turntable. If I understand the Sonos Amp correctly, your five existing Sonos amps should show up as possible playback devices for the Stream Onyx. You can them group them, or otherwise manage like you would through the Sonos app.
