Basically you connect the included serial device to your computer via USB, and then plug the RCA jacks (or S-Video) into your VCR. Then run the "Basic" setup and you'll be copying in nothing flat. The hardest part was trying to register the software. Never successfully did this. But the package is okay. If you want controls and editing, then you'll need another software package to modify the downloaded data. Roxio probably wouldn't be a bad choice either.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Works well so far. I've used the "quick and easy" mode which does the trick. Like copies of copies you will lose clarity, but the end result will outlast the ol' tapes. Use a high quality DVD+R disc. The Best Buy staff turned me on to that.
