Usually the best place to start in situations like this is to try a different cable, or swap the audio/video cables if possible to see if it restores video but breaks audio. Also, you might want to try a different video source to see if the issue still reproduces.

Try shutting down your Mac completely, and disconnect any peripherals as well. After several minutes, reconnect and check whether there is any change.
