• You do need to have a Hi8 tape player that can output to the VIDBOX capture device through RCA and/or S-Video connections. You will not be able to use this product without a working player for any content you would like to capture.

• You will need something to play the tapes on. If you don't have a vcr or the camcorder compatible with the tapes, you will be out of luck.
