Yes the standard container will grind coffee. Use the pulse feature to get the desired result. Another option is to use the 32Oz. dry grain container. The wet container that comes with Vitamix blenders pulls everything down the center into the blades. The dry grains container is designed to push the grains up the center and down the sides into the blades. The result is you get a better grind with the dry grain container if you are grinding large amounts. For small amounts the wet container will do fine. One thing to note, however, is that coffee will cause some staining of the container. It's best to wash the container after every use.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not a coffee drinker, so I cannot attest to this. I have blended lots of frozen fruit and this blender does it with ease.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think this is a GREAT question. I have never tried. I hate to guess (I am a coffee drinker and DO appreciate fresh ground coffee beans). I would certainly guess “yes” but would be concerned about just exactly HOW fine it would get...but this is one very, very capable blender. It really is. I can imagine some “experimentation” of amount of time and speed would come into play. Thanks for asking...I may research that, based on your prompting ! How cool would that option be !??
