“It says audio format not supported when I watch certain movies on D+ or Netflix...if a movie is in DTS it does not want to play. I used the optical wire is something wrong with it or did I do something wrong during setup?”

I have a Vizio TV, but I think the issue can be with all TV brands. I had the same issue. Not only did my bar not come with the connector cables for sound, but the User Manuel doesn't help. So at some point the Sound bar says, FORMAT IS NOT COMPATIBLE, PLEASE CHANGE YOUR TV AUDIO SETTINGS To FORCE PCM. Hope this helps. Now I'm taking it back to Bestbuy , to get a refund since it doesn't have the sound cord .

Did you go into your TV settings and adjust the sound output for certain items . I know on my LG TV when I plugged up my Visio sound bar I had to go into settings so the TV will know that the sound bar was there
