For best reception and picture quality, it would be recommended to connect your cable box to your TV with and HDMI connection. I would then recommend to connect your antenna to the TV's coax input. Not only will you get the best possibly picture quality from your cable channels, the TV is capable of one coax connection at a time. When using the over the air antenna channels, you can press the OK key in the center of your remote to bring up an on-screen keyboard to enter in the desired channel numbers.
