“Can I use this TV right out of the box, plug into wall socket and use TV to play DVD's only??? Do I need a cable provider?? Would I need extra stuff?? Is there a TV on the market just for DVD's???? If so where??? Thanks”

Yes, the TV can be used out of the box. When connecting a DVD player you will need to change the input on the TV screen to the same input that the DVD player was plugged in to on the back.
