“IF I am listening to a song or a cable tv broadcast that is NOT encoded with dolby atmos, will the upward tilting speakers in the soundbar produce any sound? Or, will these speakers be silent?”

• The upward firing speakers are only active when Atmos content is present.

• You can enable virtual height mode, which will utilize those speakers to make a fuller sound in the absence of atmos.
