• It depends on the source. Most devices like a cable box or satellite box will send their own aspect ratio. The apps and built in Chromecast use their own aspect ratio too. You can however adjust that setting in the menu of the TV.

• Yes, Its in the Menu selections. But the auto selection handles it for me so you don't have to manually do it.
