“my remote will not turn off the tv - had to unplug it. changed the batteries but did not help. it will also not work the volume. It will however let me move up and down on the apps”

Do you have Spectrum? As soon as I hooked up my tv my Spectrum remote worked for it. Perhaps that’s it??? Not sure
