“Is there a setting to easily have only the two small speaker on but not the front one? Sometimes at night, I would prefer that because I would have them close to me so that I can have the volume low and I don't disturbing roommates and neighbors.”

As far as I know, No. Even with the LCD remote control options, the center speaker stays on. The remote-rear speakers are not continuous sound.
