It depends on the model of the TV but more then likely your Samsung TV has one of the following connections. HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel), optical out and or Bluetooth. HDMI ARC is the superior of the three, it will give you the best sound.

Yes. I have a Samsung tv and I connected it via the included optical cable. You may also connect via Bluetooth. You could also use hdmi if you have hdmi out on your tv. In theory, the tv brand is irrelevant. It is the connection type that counts.
