Yes you can purchase a longer cable. I do not personally keep my subwoofer next to the TV I keep it across from the sound bar. It sounds better that way and gives more of a theater type sound. I know people who put the subwoofer under the Soundbar but it does sound so much better if you put it to the side of it.
