• We recently released an update that adds applications directly to the TV that can be used in addition to the casting capabilities.

• Yes, Netflix and other apps are loaded to the TV and now you do not need a smart phone to operate the TV.

• They're built in and the remote controls everything. You don't need to use a phone, but you can still cast with or without the app from a Bluetooth device (phone, laptop, etc).

• Netflix and other apps are not preloaded. You need your smartphone. You can stream content straight from your phone though, as long as your phone and your TV are both connected to the same wifi.
