“Just got this tv (v505-g9) from Best Buy and it is saying it doesn't support 4K under tv resolution. We have a 4K mini genie and it says tv doesn't support 4K. Also it says it's not HDR compatible either. Box clearly states that it is a 4K HDR Smart tv.”

Inputs 1 & 2 are HDMI 2.0 and will support 4K and HDR. Input 3 is only an HDMI 1.4. Move your Mini Genie to either HDMI Input 1 or 2, and you’ll be good to go. Hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just had the same problem. Brand New Vizio V505-G9 and Direct TV came out today to install new 4K boxes. You will get picture if you go into the TV settings under input and change UHD to OFF. problem is the Direct TV receiver will still not allow you to change the box to 4K under their "Display" setting to 4K, the box is greyed out. I also have a new Samsung 4K TV and whether or not I change the UHD to OFF or ON I still get picture and can change the Direct TV box to 4K, box is not greyed out. I plugged my Xbox1 4K into the Vizio and it works on UHD. I think the problem is with both Vizio and Direct TV. They are not "handshaking" correctly and both are blaming each other for the issue. So, Direct TV box does work on UHD, just not on a Vizio V509-G9.The Vizio V509-G9 can display 4K UHD, just not on Direct TV.

Please try again later.Literally exactly the same thing, I had Direct tv tech over that had 16 yrs experience, he replaced all cables wires and even a part of the satellite. Walked me through step by step settings on direct tv and this vizio, we could not get past that exact error on Both tv’s both boxes. Hopefully just a setting we missed buuuut yeah a little frustrated

It sounds like it may have a glitch. I had to call support for mine In connecting it to my iPad, they are amazing!! Good luck!

I have had my TV for nearly 2 months. I have already had one update on the TV and still nothing. Now it is too late to return the TV. very disappointed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've encountered this issue too many times. 4k mini genie will not work with visio 4k tv. I tried updating software on tv and 4k mini. Replaced hdmi Under input setting turning on uhd will not work. Both devices just aren't compatible

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same issue at first but I found the solution. Go into your input options on a specific input. Then go to the display options for that input. Select the HDR option and set display to the correct resolution.
