“When I turn the tv off and go into the other room. The tv turns back on by itself. When I turn it off again, it will stay off. I don't watch it often but it happens almost every time. Is this normal? Is there a setting for it?”

Are you using the CEC/ARC feature with your source? When this is enabled, the TV will turn on if it detects a signal on that port (I believe it’s limited to HDMI 1). I have had the same issue, and haven’t found a resolution either, because my source (Roku box) doesn’t ever turn “off”. Hitting the power button again does let the TV stay off, though. You could switch the port on the TV, or turn off CEC, but then the TV can’t control your audio system or other devices.
