The remote is not programmable. It is extremely basic. However with any HDMI device you plug into the TV, the TV will turn on that device when you select it from the 6 inputs it has. (5 HDMI and Cast) My configuration is this. Home Theater sound system with several things plugged into it, the TV will not control anything plugged into the sound system, only what is plugged into the TV. When I stream content to it through the built in Google ChromCaster, the TV turns on the sound system, and switches the sound system to the TV audio. When I am done watching the show I press the one power button on the TV remote and it turns off the sound system also. The trigger signal is through the HDMI cable. If you plug the Cable Box directly into the TV and not the home theater, it will change the channels, but will not bring up the menu. So just up and down is all you get, and no switching back channels or even typing in the channel number, the remote simply doesn't have the buttons. However if you use the tablet it will control the cable box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Android-based remote communicates over the network to the TV, whereas the typicall cable box, audio tuner, and so on use either IR (infrared) signals or RF (radio frequency) signals. The Android remote does not have that capability built in, but you can buy an add-on IR blaster. Google "IR on Android Tablet" for a bunch of options and a few links on how to adapt it to control your whole home theater.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Maybe. Depends on what your pairing it to, if it needs a wifi, RF, bluetooth or app to app syncing service to establish a connection. Its an android which is an open source OS so if the hardware can talk you can find something that can make it happen. more than likely its not worth the time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We appreciate your interest in the M70-D3. The provided standard TV remote is not a universal remote so it will not program with other devices. The tablet remote can work with other SmartCast™ enabled devices. Thanks! -Randal
