“Why can’t I watch movies from apps in full screen? For instance to watch a movie from prime Amazon- and I automatically get the black “box” - top and bottom black . If I zoom it only zooms in the box - no ratio option. Help”

When watching content from an app, at that time the app becomes the source and the TV becomes a display for that content from the app. Each app developer determines how the content is displayed (resolution, audio codecs, and screen format to name a few). For help with adjusting these options, it would be recommended to reach out to the app's developers for more support.
