Breeder, Yes you can. By adjusting the center channel, you will get the voices much louder than the background noise and music.

Long answer: Yes, assuming you're properly setup so your source sends surround sound to your TV (via HDMI) and your TV passes it to the soundbar (via coaxial, optical, or HDMI ARC). This set lets you adjust the center speaker (commonly used for dialogue) and rear speakers (commonly used for surround effects) in relation to the main (front) speakers. You can turn up the center and it will follow volume changes, always being whatever percent you set above the main speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The center channel is adjustable up or down on this system. I tried mine with the center channel turned all the way up and it was too loud, I actually had to back it down a bit. Keep in mind that your source (Sat./cable box, DVD, Blu-ray, Roku, etc.) needs to connect to the sound bar via HDMI or the Digital Audio Optical inputs in order to take advantage of the center channel speaker only producing the dialog on TV shows and movies and are encoded for surround sound. And only 3.1 and 5.1 systems will have the center channel speaker in the sound bar. I hope this was helpful.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There may be a setting on your TV called TruSurround or Surround Sound that can be adjusted. This sound bar would give you the same audio the TV is receiving.
