This replaced my receiver and 5.1 surround system. I did so to minimize space in my apartment. Sounds great and integrated nicely with my Samsung TV, Apple TV, Mac Mini, cable and Logitech universal remote.

It's funny to think that soundbars from high-profile brands (I consider Vizio just one step above Best Buy's house brand) costing twice the price lack the parts included with this one. The box contains power and hookup cables for the satellite speakers, as expected, but the cables are generously-sized (rear satellites require long cable runs) and come with hook-and-loop fasteners for a neat installation. Mounting screws are provided in case you want to hang the sound bar and the rear satellites. Patch cables to hook up the sound bar to multiple audio sources are included, as a courtesy. Sound quality is good. It is what you'd expect of a moderately-priced soundbar, and far above the quality of the tinny little speakers built-in to today's flat panel TV sets. The controls and the remote are adequate, but the lack of text or icons to indicate which source is active (you have to count the number of LEDs, in pairs, from the bottom) is frustrating. The display on the remote control is hard to read, but it is rarely needed. I would buy this product again, for a reasonably-prices surround sound TV setup.

I originally purchased an LG 2.1 sound bar, but returned it when I was less than pleased with it's performance. I had never purchased any Vizio products, but the very attractive sale price and the fact that it has 5.1 sound got me to jump on it. The sound that the set puts out it is very powerful and fills my room very well. It's nice to have surround channel speakers to really add to that immersive theater experience. Setting up the kit was one of the easiest experiences as it's all very plug and play. The set came with a very impressive amount of accessory cables to make sure that you get everything up and running in no time. The surround speakers connect to the wireless sub-woofer, and have more than enough cable length to get most any size room wired up. One of the best things that I like about this sound bar, is the integrated Google Cast feature. I understand that all Vizio sound bars and televisions being made now will include this integration. Having it built in helps keep the electronics clutter in check which is nice. My only complaint about this system is the remote that it comes with. While I do like the sleek look of the remote, the small screen that you scroll through for the menus can be very hard to read unless you have brighter lighting on, as it is not back-lit. I personally never use the remote as the smartphone app makes it all much easier to control. Overall I am very happy with my purchase of this soundbar and the quality of Vizio products. I will definitely be considering future Vizio electronics thanks to my happiness here. If you are looking for a cost-effective and easy to use soundbar then you will not be unhappy here.

I have been using the Vizio SmartCast sound bar for a few months now. I connected the device to a SmartCast Vizio display and I've been very satisfied with the performance. I placed the sound bar in the center of a large living room with a high ceiling, and the subwoofer in a corner under a table, and the sound quality is very good despite the size of the room. I'm sure the sound quality would be much better in a smaller room, but for the price, this would be the best available sound bar with wireless satellite speakers and subwoofer. I only had a couple of small issues: I use the TV with my phone apps most of the time. When I turn on TV, the soundbar does not connect to the TV right away. I need to change the input to another plugged device (HDMI/cable) and once I hear the sound, I change the input back to "Cast" or cast from the device. I haven't done more research on this, but it is likely something easy to fix. The remote has a small display where you can see what device is active, change settings, sound equalizer, etc. It is a bit difficult to understand, not very user friendly. Unless you have a similar device, you will have to spend some time reading the manual. Everything else is pretty good. I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a sound bar with all features (HDMI connection, Bluetooth, AUX, Cast, wireless suwoofer + satellite speakers), and doesn't want to spend a ton of money, but want good sound quality.

I bought this to replace my blu-ray player 5.1 surround sound that was connected to my computer. Now I've got the optical port connected to my computer and pump out music 24/7. It is extremely important to note: when you first power this item on-if you're listening to music you MUST switch the mode from Video to Music. And I also suggest turning off the surround sound. If you don't, you'll hear the music volume levels being altered by the system to get better sound quality from movies and the center speaker (vocals). I'm not an expert but this is what it sounds like it's trying to do. It sounds bizarre and I thought it was broken. So I called VIZIO's technical support and had the entire unit replaced only to later discover all I had to do was set it to "Music." :P Anyway this thing can pump out some tunes! The sub is perfect, it really only carries the low of the lows. The bar itself handles most of the regular bass and it does so with ease. This makes for a much clearer sound overall. The one thing I do not like: the remote and the controls on the bar itself. First off, the controls on top of the unit have no illumination, I suppose that's acceptable considering it's not supposed to be a "boombox." It should be wall mounted somewhere and you shouldn't need to touch it. But a little illumination would be nice nonetheless. And secondly, the remote, while being small it must be aimed directly at the unit and you must be watching this bar's lights to know if you've made an alteration to the unit. I can understand why this is the case but there are alternatives that could have been made in production that would have clearly let you know whether you turned on or off a setting. These two things are pretty minor all-in-all. The sound quality is killer, the maximum volume is killer, the look is sleek, mounting was cake, etc etc.

Amazing sound from this item, BUT we consistently have to fight with it. Every time you turn the tv off, it turns off. When you turn the tv on, it comes on. But you have to change the input. My remote now will not go to all inputs. Just the first two. We have to go up to the sound bar & hit the "input" on the sound bar for it to work. The remote also used to tell you which input you were on, it stopped after two weeks. It has good sound, but the remote functionality is minimum.

This was our first surround sound purchase. I have heard several great surround sound systems but wasn't sure it was a need for us. I caught this item on sale when I purchase a new TV. I have not been disappointed. The sound quality is very good. Setup was easy. Remote may not be the most user friendly.

I was on search for a good soundbar for about 6 months. I bought a Vizio 4K television during the summer and wanted an equally as nice soundbar. The workers at the stores (yes, I went to multiple locations to get different recommendations) all went on about how terrible the quality is of Vizio soundbars. I bought both a Samsung and LG prior to this piece. The Samsung was okay, but one of my main necessities was bluetooth, and the stream would cut after only being 3 feet away from the soundbar. I immediately returned it. The LG, well it was just overall terrible. Needless to say, that went back as well. I bought this because it was on sale for $180, normally $300, and was a 5.1 rather than a 2.1. I ended up paying less than I did for this higher quality piece than I did for the Samsung and LG. This blow both of those out of the water! My apartment isn't huge, but I can't even turn this soundbar half way up because it is so loud and vibrant. I will say, you do need to do a little adjusting to the factory settings to find the right sound quality for you. You get so many extra cables, you won't even know what to do with all of them. AND, the wall mount pieces. Honestly, I'd buy this again, even at full price. On sale? Even better! Leave it up to reading reviews online, not the salesmen.

I bought this sound bar because I wanted a cheap 5.1. But I was surprised how it turned out to be. Its pretty good for its price. This thing rocks my apartment. Though your mileage may vary. It might not be good for a large house. But for a medium/ small apartment or room, this is plenty enough. Amazing value from a 5.1 sound bar. The only con I observed was the Vizio smart cast connection. I couldn't get the app to connect. I tried multiple times with my s7 edge and iPad, but couldn't. So I gave up eventually and started using plain old bluetooth connection. TIP: Always go for open box products. I got the Open box excellent and it came as expected- excellent couldn't tell whether it was brand new or not.Everything was included, all cables- nothing missing. The only give away was the packaging. And majority of people don't care about packaging once the unboxing is done.

Bought mine in Dec 2016. This is my first sound bar/surround sound system. Overall, it's a very nice system. A huge step up from TV speakers. I find myself having to play with the settings a bit for different types of TV programming (sports vs movie) but I don't think that's a fault of Vizio, just the nature of TV audio not all created equal. The subwoofer provides thunderous bass. I thought I was prepared for this as my first experience with a subwoofer but it still surprised me. It's wonderful during movies, etc. but even with the bass setting turned down sometimes it's just a bit much so I also make use of "night mode" which dampens the bass. Setup was easy. It comes with several input connections (HDMI, optical, etc.) so you should find something to work with any modern TV; optical was my only option but my TV is nothing special. The instructions were very clear. I took everything out of the box, connected the optical wire and power cord, changed a setting on my TV as instructed and was up and running. Connecting to wifi was a little more involved but I expected as much; it requires installing the Vizio SmartCast app which walks you through the process pretty easily. The one negative... After about 3 months Google Cast stopped working. Despite several attempts on my own and with Vizio support we could not get it to work. I ended up having to get a replacement system under warranty from Vizio. High marks to Vizio for their great customer support. Support threads took a little long to respond too but when but I asked for them to call me so the issue would get resolved more quickly, they promptly did. Once on the phone, the agent quickly determined that the sound bar was faulty. They shipped the recertified device to me right away at no cost to me. Unfortunately, Vizio uses recertified devices as warranty replacements and does not extend the warranty beyond the original timeframe (1 year for me). So far my replacement device is working fine though I'm a little skeptical about how long it will last given that it's recertified and not brand new. I'm rating 4 stars because my only problem was with Google Cast and I cannot prove if that was a Google software or Vizio issue. Since Vizio promptly replaced my faulty device and I've had no issues with the replacement I consider that problem resolved.

Really not too bad for the price. I bought this for my man cave. The two smaller speakers for surround sound are pretty good. The subwoofer is not too strong so the box won't make a rattling sound when your playing games or watching a movie.

We ordered this soundbar package with a new TV. Pairing it with Bluetooth worked easily. Set up was not complicated, and the overall sound quality is very good. We did have some tracking issues at first, so the sound track was not in sync with the picture on the TV, but we got that resolved. The only negative aspect is that adjusting the sound levels/equalization with the included remote is not very easy. There is an app to use on your iPad for more full-featured adjustability, however as of this writing the app was not downloading. Hopefully once we can download the app we'll be able to make the adjustments we want more easily.

I had purchased this sound bar system which a friend had been using. After the purchase I took notice of the same system BUT the sub had a flat profile to it not like the cube box look. I returned it and purchased the Vizio system with the flat sub so I could place it under the couch. Great sound!!!!

I was unsure about sound bars and previously only had a denon receiver, KEF speakers and sub, and a 7.1 surround. The living room was not conducive to running wires and after hearing and liking my brothers sound bar surround set up I thought I would give it a shot. The sound is wonderful. The subwoofer connects to the sound bar via Bluetooth so I have conveniently placed the sub inside my couch! Wife is happy with no cords visible and I am stoked at how great the system sounds!

This is the perfect addition to my Sharp Aquos flatscreen TV. Setup was easy. All of the cables are in the box, and setup took less than 10 minutes. Movies sound amazing and offer a full movie theater experience in a sleek package. I haven't used the Vizio app, but Bluetooth streaming sounds remarkable for a sound bar. Music sounds good with nice bass response. Overall I'm happy with the purchase and would buy it again.
