“I know it says HDMI is the best option for sound. When I connect the HDMI no sound comes out, I have to use optical for the sound at to work. And do I have to turn on my soundbar every time I want to use it or is there a way it can come on automatic??”

You'll want to make sure you have the HDMI cable plugged into the right location. You'll need to look for an HDMI port labeled "ARC" on the TV (If this is a VIZIO TV, this will always be HDMI port 1). You'll also want to make sure you're plugged into the "ARC" port on the sound bar. If your TV does not have an HDMI input labeled "ARC" then it may not support this feature. Once you've connected it correctly the audio should automatically come on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Turn the the eco power off to keep the power on. You can use the remote to scroll to eco power. Also, To use hdmi you want to change the audio settings on your tv to bitstream, not PCM. Enable CEC also.
