“Bought this second hand without a remote. Does this have an FM mode? How many modes are there and what are they? Is it supposed to make a sound when I power it on? The LED lights work, but I don't hear anything.”

A remote would not be required to power it on and cycle inputs. You may need to contact us at support.vizio.com and we can get you up and running.
