“Does baby unit have battery? Dm221-2. Parent unit both have batteries. Baby monitor does not. If power goes out parent unit works but baby unit doesn’t. Is this correct?”

Correct. There are w couple of brands that have battery backup on the baby units, like TimeFlys, but they seem to not consistently pick up the audio as well. It’s worth noting that if the battery goes out on the baby unit, you will know it within a couple of minutes, because the parent unit will begin to beep loudly to let you know it’s disconnected.
