“This is for my elderly parent. Does she have to press anything to talk. If she falls she cannot reach a button. Does this work by voice activation? I just want something to put in her room in case she falls again and she can just call out for help.”

She can just talk and you will hear her. You have to push the button to talk back to her. These work wonderful for an older person. That is what we purchased them for.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The baby unit is always active and picks up sound from the room. She will not need to press anything to be heard. You must press "talk" button on the side to speak from the parent units to the baby unit. The baby unit has a "page" button that makes a sequence of beeps until the parent unit presses any button to stop the alert.
