Hi - The telephone base of the VTech CS5129-26 will not be able to communicate with another telephone base. Instead, you can deregister the handset from the original base then re-register it to the other base. You may contact our Consumer Sales and Service Center between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday at 1-800-595-9511 for more details. Thank you, -VTech Support
