QuestionOk. Since it doesn't say and no one has asked. How is the second, additional phone hooked up? Just place anywhere with a battery? Hook up to a phone jack? Or is there some electrical connection, what?

- Answer There were about six different ringtones, as I recall, and some were musical rather than traditional phone rings.

QuestionDo you have to use the answering system? Do you have to have this set up with a service that you're charged for monthly, as in with your phone bill? Can I use my existing old style answering machine with it?

- Answer Hi - The answering machine on the VTech CS5129 can be manually turned ON or OFF. There will be no monthly fees if you are to use the built-in answering system on the unit. Thank you for your interest!

- Answer Hi - We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your VTech Telephone system. It is possible that the telephone's dial mode is set to pulse that is why you hear a clicking sound whenever you dial a number. If this is also the reason as to why you're unable to delete or access your voicemail, you may try changing the dial mode of the telephone by following the steps below. 1. Press MENU when the phone is not in use. 2. Press ▲ or ▼ to choose Settings, and then press SELECT. 3. Press ▲ or ▼ to choose Dial mode, and then press SELECT. 4. Press ▲ or ▼ to choose Touch-tone or Pulse. 5. Press SELECT to save your selection. Then the handset returns to the previous menu. You hear a confirmation tone.

- Answer Man - Using the cordless handset, press MENU, then scroll to >Answering sys. Press MENU, You will see >Announcement. Press MENU, and follow the prompts to record your greeting. You can also set other answering system features by pressing MENU, scroll to >Answering sys, scroll to >Ans sys setup, press MENU, scroll the desired feature, such as # of rings.

- Answer Have you tried the vtech website? Besides returns period is 15 days. Buy it and read the manual before leaving and if it's not for you get refund immediately.

- Answer You probably have already done this but double check that you have each handset in the right base. I had the same problem and when I switch them it worked. If that isn’t the problem you might just have a bad battery..

- Answer The base phone I purchased is model cs5129, and it is my understanding that it is similar to the cs5119. Both of these phones are compatible with add on phone model cs5109 which I just put into use two days ago.. I am experiencing no static/hum/interference with my system
