“Can't get answering service to work (1) Press [Menu] so display reads "Play messages"; (2) Press [Down arrow] so display reads "Answering System"; (3) Press [Select] so display reads "Announcement"; (4) Press [Select] again speaker announced "To play press 2, to record press 7" (5) Press [7] and make a recording. (6) press [2] and no hear automated greeting, not my own recording. How can I fix this to get my own recorded message in the answering system?”

To create your own message was no problem. I had read the instructions in the book and had it done before I placed the rest of the phones around the house. If it takes you more then 3 mins you are trying to hard. Take your time good luck
