“We recently purchased this phone. It only rings 3 times before it goes to the answering machine. Can we change it so it rings more (allowing us more time to get to the phone in order to answer)? Fore example, perhaps 5 rings? Thanks!”

Hi - Here's how you can adjust the number of rings before the answering machine of the VTech DS6251-2 answers the call. 1. Press the Menu button on the cordless handset. 2. Press the arrow down button to scroll to Answering system, then press Select. 3. Press the arrow down button to choose Line 1 or Line 2, then press Select. 4. Press the arrow down button to scroll to Ans sys setup, then press Select. 5. Press the arrow down button to scroll # of rings, then press Select. 6. Press the arrow down button to choose 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 or Toll saver, then press Select to save your setting. Thank you, -VTech Support
